Waiting At Home™ – Terms of Service

1. Overview

Waiting At Home (“WAH,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a voluntary SMS-based PetCheck™ notification service that allows a registered pet parent to notify designated surrogate pet parents (“Tenders”) if the pet parent does not return home by a specified time.

This service facilitates communication only. Waiting At Home does not guarantee response, intervention, or care.

2. User Roles

Pet Parent

• Registers through the website.
• Provides contact information.
• Invites one or more Tenders.
• Initiates PetCheck notifications.

Tender (Surrogate Pet Parent)

• Receives an invitation via SMS.
• Must explicitly opt in via text message to become registered.
• May receive PetCheck notifications.
• May accept or decline any PetCheck notification.

3. Consent to SMS Messaging

By registering as a Pet Parent or replying to an invitation as a Tender, you expressly consent to receive SMS messages related to:

• Invitations
• PetCheck notifications
• PetCheck escalations
• PetCheck cancellations
• Account-related system messages

Message frequency varies based on notification activity. Messages are sent only when users initiate PetCheck notifications or when system responses are required. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

4. Opt-In Process

Pet Parent Opt-In

Pet Parents opt in by creating an account on the website, entering their phone number, and agreeing to these Terms and SMS Policy.

Tender Opt-In

Tenders opt in by replying to an SMS invitation with the designated acceptance keyword.

No user is enrolled without explicit affirmative action.

5. Opt-Out Instructions

You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying REMOVE or STOP. Reply HELP for assistance.

After opting out, you will receive a final confirmation message and no further SMS messages unless you re-register.

6. Data Usage

Phone numbers and related account information are used solely for PetCheck notification transmission, system notifications, and account management. Waiting At Home does not sell or share phone numbers for marketing purposes.

7. Service Limitations

• No guarantee of emergency response.
• No verification of physical pet safety.
• No dispatch of emergency services.
• Not a substitute for professional pet care.

8. Liability Disclaimer

Waiting At Home is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for SMS delivery failures, carrier delays, outages, or user non-response.
