Waiting At Home – SMS Consent Process

Waiting At Home is preparing for public launch.
The consent process below reflects the active SMS workflow used by the platform.

Overview

Waiting At Home provides transactional SMS notifications related to pet safety alerts. Participation in SMS messaging requires explicit consent. Waiting At Home does not send marketing messages.

How Pet Parents Provide Consent

No SMS messages are sent to a Pet Parent unless consent has been provided.

How Sparents Provide Consent

A Sparent (Surrogate Pet Parent) is invited by a Pet Parent. The Sparent receives a one-time SMS invitation from Waiting At Home explaining why they are being contacted and requesting consent.

To participate, the Sparent must explicitly reply with the acceptance keyword (e.g., YES). No alert notifications will be sent to a Sparent unless they have first provided explicit SMS consent.

If the Sparent does not respond, no further alert messages are sent.

Types of Messages Sent

Message frequency varies depending on user activity. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

Opt-Out & Help Instructions

After opting out, a final confirmation message will be sent. No further SMS messages will be delivered unless the user re-registers.
